This course is designed to meet the IFSTA standard for Firefighter 1. It is suggested to complete to obtain the CO State Firefighter 1 certification. This course will cover all topics fire suppression / behavior, PPE, SCBA, strategies and tactics, and fire ground awareness. This class is both in class and hands on. The in-class portion will be online via remote learning.
This is the Western Taney County Fire Protection District Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Awareness Course. This course is part of the probationary training requirements for all new firefighters. Course completion is only achieved once all portions of the course have been completed and sufficient scores on the quizzes and tests has been achieved.
If you are not permitted to advance to a section of the course, it is likely because you have not completed the requirements of the chapter section or subsection you are working on. These include:
1. Pressing the submit button once you have reviewed the video review of each chapter
2. Achieving at least an 80% score on each chapter quiz
3. Achieving at least a 70% score on each chapter test.
To complete the course, you must also successfully pass the end-of-course test and score a minimum of 70%, review the Missouri Division of Fire Safety practical skills sheets, and complete the course evaluation activity. This course is part of the probationary training requirements for all members of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District. In order to complete this course, each member must complete all assignments including reviewing each chapter video, and successfully pass each chapter quiz and test as well as the end of course exam.
Once these requirements are met, to achieve course completion, each student must also review the Missouri Division of Fire Safety practical skills booklet and the end of course evaluation form.
If you are unable to proceed to the next activity or assignment, it is because you have not successfully met the requirements of the activity you are currently in. Please review the requirements of each section carefully and be sure to complete all of the steps to complete each requirement within the course.
If you are unable to proceed past a certain point and cannot resolve the issue on your own, please contact the Division Chief of Training for further assistance.
This course shall cover Firefighter 1 & 2 for SFFMA. After you receive a course completion, you will have to schedule your state exam and skills testing. As you complete a section, the next section will open. You may only move to the next section after you pass the section you are taking.
This blended course delivery is designed for individuals who are new to the position of driver/operator, anticipate future promotion to that position or are preparing to sit for the State of Missouri driver/operator certification exam. In this class, students will discuss duties and responsibilities of the driver/operator, apparatus maintenance, apparatus operation and positioning. Participants will operate fire apparatus in various situations and have an opportunity to complete their certification skill sheets. The requirements for this course are based on the Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications, NFPA 1002, Chapter 4; 2014 Edition.
Requirements:
Washington Township Fire Department Pump Operator and Ladder Driver Task Books.
Chapters 1-15 are for the Pump / Driver Operator.
