
This hybrid Fire Officer I course is designed to prepare current and aspiring company officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively supervise personnel, manage emergency operations, and fulfill administrative responsibilities within the fire service. The course combines online self-paced learning with scheduled in-person classroom sessions, allowing students to complete coursework while maintaining their work and personal commitments.
Instruction follows the IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Company Officer curriculum and meets the requirements established by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety for Fire Officer I certification. Topics include leadership and supervision, communication, human resource management, community and public relations, health and safety, emergency service delivery, incident management, training responsibilities, and administrative functions.
Students will be required to successfully complete all online learning assignments, quizzes, classroom activities, and practical skills evaluations to qualify for course completion and certification testing eligibility.
