Student Activity:
For this activity you will consider how different fire streams are used in extinguishment. Follow the steps below to complete this activity.
Step One: Locate one video that shows fire streams training and also one video that shows an actual incident of firefighters using fire streams for extinguishment.
NOTE: To search for fire streams training, search key terms such as “fire streams training,” “fire hose training,” or “fire streams.” To search for actual incidents, search key terms such as “fighting structural fires,” “firefighters fighting fires,” or “house fires.”
Step Two: Post a report in your dropbox describing the training video and the actual incident video by [deadline here]. Be sure to include the following information:
Training Video
- Source of the video
- Brief description of the training
- What type of PPE responders are wearing and its purpose
- What type of fire streams are shown (solid stream, fog stream, straight stream, broken stream)

Incident Video
