    Resource Center

The Resource Center represents the initial phase of developing information-rich electronic communities for IFSTA customers, validation committee members, and the entire fire and rescue service.

IFSTA's 75-year history as a developer of comprehensive, validated fire service training materials made the Instructor Toolkit a logical and essential first step in creating electronic communities. Expect it to grow and develop.  More information on the Instructor Toolkit is provided below.

Additional Resource Center Toolkits presently are under development.
    Instructor Tool Kit
    Overview

The Instructor Toolkit is designed with the fire and emergency services instructor in mind. Pump up your training sessions with additional resources. The tools are up to date and easy to use.

Most of the resources are tailored to shorter classroom sessions and coordinate with the relevant IFSTA manuals. The resources are intended to supplement the lesson plans you may already be using, or, to give you stand alone lessons that you may use for ongoing training, company training, etc.

    The toolkit includes:

    • Lesson plans and activities
    • PowerPoint slides

Toolkits are currently available for the following IFSTA manuals.

    • Essentials 5th Edition
    • Fire & Emergency Services Company Officer, 4th Edition
    • Fire & Emergency Services Instructor, 7th Edition
    • Fire Inspection & Code Enforcement, 7th Edition

Again, please keep in mind that no test or quizzes, or the answers to tests and quizzes, will be posted in the Instructor Toolkit. This is to ensure that only instructors have ready access to materials used for evaluating students. If you need to have a copy of quizzes or tests, review the information about the curriculum CD for the manual you are using on the IFSTA Website. If you are a college instructor or training officer in a department, please go to the ‘About Us’ section of the website and use the ‘Review Copy Request’ procedure to receive a complimentary copy of the curriculum.
