Welcome to the WTCFPD Hazardous Materials Awareness/Operations Course. This class will prepare you to respond to hazardous materials incidents safely and prepare you to successfully pass the Missouri Fire Marshal's certification examinations for hazardous materials awareness and operations.
The course is already open for you to begin your work if you choose to do so. If you have available time, I would strongly encourage you to get started as soon as possible. The course will officially begin on Monday, May 4th, 2020, and will end on Friday, May 22nd, 2020 at 11:59 pm. Please work through the curriculum and make sure that you successfully complete all quizzes and end of course examination by May 22nd.
We will have four total face to face training sessions during this course. They will be:
Wednesday, May 27th, 2020: WTCFPD Station 7 from 1800 (6 pm) - 2200 (10 pm) and will be a review session and knowledge check on what you have learned during the online portion of the course.
Friday, May 29th, 2020: WTCFPD Station 7 from 1800 - 2200 and will be the first night of practical skills practice for the practical skills examination for state certification
Saturday, May 30th, 2020: WTCFPD Station 7 from 0800 - 1700 (5 pm) and will be day two of practical skills practice. THIS IS THE FINAL PRACTICAL SKILLS PRACTICE FOR SKILLS TESTING FOR CERTIFICATION
Sunday, May 31st, 2020: WTCFPD Station 7 from 0800 - 1300 (1pm). This will be a practical skills evaluation for this course with evaluators from the Missouri Division of Fire Safety.
