This 24-Hour ARFF Refresher Course will instruct and review with current certified ARFF students, who have completed the initial ARFF Training Course, on Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting skills as required by the FAA. By completing this course, the student will meet the yearly review & recurrent training requirements of FAR 139. 319 (i) / AC No: 150/5210-17C as required by the FAA & NFPA 1003 - Qualifications of an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter. This is a 40-hour Basic ARFF Course that will instruct the students on basic Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting skills as required by the FAA. By completing this course, the student will meet the basic requirements of FAR 139. 319 (i) / AC No: 150/5210-17C as required by the FAA & NFPA 1003 - Qualifications of an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter. This course will have both lecture and some hands-on instruction. Each day of class and will have 2 instructors for the course. This Course will be held 8 hours each day for 5 days. Students and / or sponsoring agency are responsible for textbooks and electronic software used for the course. Class will be using newest Aircraft Rescue Firefighting editions and curriculum, currently the IFSTA Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting 6th Edition Book but may change due to newer editions and curriculum. The requesting agency will be notified of any changes of book and curriculum changes by the lead instructor.
Goals: The goal of this course is that upon completion the student will have sufficient basic knowledge to apply skills and successfully perform basic Aircraft Rescue firefighting. Meeting these goals will accumulate into achieving the basic qualifications to meet the basic requirements for an aircraft rescue firefighter as set for by NFPA 1003 and FAR 139. 319 (i) / AC No: 150/5210-17C including OSHA 1910.120 & NFPA 407 Hazardous Materials Response. The goal is to provide sufficient training and instruction such that firefighters can function well as part of a team.















Class Overview:
This course is at least 24 hours of classroom, self-study instruction, and skills preparation for group activities. There will be assigned coursework, quizzes, and tests to be completed via ResourceOne. There are at least 8 hours of practical skills preparation, demonstration, and evaluation. All classes will meet on a shift-friendly schedule from 1300-1700 each week unless denoted otherwise on the schedule.

Welcome to the IFD Instructor 1 class. This class will be shift friendly meaning you only need to attend one of the two days being offered each week. Class days are Tuesday or Wednesday, 0900 to 1500 both days. The class will be help at the IFD Training Academy, 9050 E. 33rd St. Indianapolis. This Fire Investigator course utilizes a blended format of 22 hours of self-directed learning through CFITrainer.net combined with 40 hours of classroom presentation and practical skills. Text for this course is Fire Investigator, IFSTA, 3rd Edition. Upon successful completion of both the practical skills and written examination, students will be awarded the Fire Investigator I certification by the Indiana Board of Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education.















Welcome to the Sentinel Level III Firefighter I program. In this program you will undergo the State of Ohio Curriculum designed to become certified at the Firefighter I level. This course will consist of both lecture-based, and hands-on skill training. Attendance is mandatory for all classes. Throughout this class, you will be taking quizzes, as well as completing your independent study assignments through this platform, please make sure you are paying attention to the due dates on your syllabus'. This course is designed through the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety and NFPA 1001. It is the minimum level of Certification to become a part-time firefighter in the State of Ohio and the minimum recommended level of training for any level. You will be exposed to dangerous atmospheres throughout the course as well as actual LIVE FIRE. You will be taught be some of the areas most certified instructors, including instructors from Ballville VFD, Bascom VFD, Clyde Fire Dept., Fremont Fire Dept., Perrysburg Twp. Fire Dept., Port Clinton Fire Dept., Sandusky Twp. VFD, and Tiffin Fire Dept., to name a few. This is a fast paced course and you are expected to come to class prepared each day by reading the chapters ahead of the lectures, completing workbooks, and completing online quizzes. If at any point during the course you feel like you need additional help or clarification, please do not hesitate to ask your instructors or call/email myself at any time. Snyder Fire Dept. Firefighter 1. This course will be mostly online with skill practice dates every other Saturday unless deemed necessary to add a few Saturdays back to back. This course will typically consist of 3-5 chapters due every two weeks. The chapters will have a open and close date to keep most students in the same area, to make it easier for instructors to assist where needed. There will be optional PowerPoints lectures throughout the 2 week period. These will be optional but highly encouraged. This is the first academy that is being taught since having a new training coordinator. If problems arise the Training coordinator will do everything possible to resolve any issue that presents itself.
