Welcome to the Sentinel Level III Firefighter I program. In this program you will undergo the State of Ohio Curriculum designed to become certified at the Firefighter I level. This course will consist of both lecture-based, and hands-on skill training. Attendance is mandatory for all classes. Throughout this class, you will be taking quizzes, as well as completing your independent study assignments through this platform, please make sure you are paying attention to the due dates on your syllabus'. This course is designed through the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety and NFPA 1001. It is the minimum level of Certification to become a part-time firefighter in the State of Ohio and the minimum recommended level of training for any level. You will be exposed to dangerous atmospheres throughout the course as well as actual LIVE FIRE. You will be taught be some of the areas most certified instructors, including instructors from Ballville VFD, Bascom VFD, Clyde Fire Dept., Fremont Fire Dept., Perrysburg Twp. Fire Dept., Port Clinton Fire Dept., Sandusky Twp. VFD, and Tiffin Fire Dept., to name a few. This is a fast paced course and you are expected to come to class prepared each day by reading the chapters ahead of the lectures, completing workbooks, and completing online quizzes.
