The Modern Fire Behavior Course is designed to address the cognitive knowledge aspect of NFPA 1403s new competencies and has been titled in line with today’s industry terminology. When NFPA last updated its Conducting Live Fire Training standard, a number of “Modern Fire Behavior” competencies were added to the original eleven, this course utilizes those “required training topics” as its road map and attempts to better prepare firefighters for the fire behavior they encounter today.
The course is intended to serve as a bridge for firefighters who have trained under previous standards as well as a refresher for personnel who have completed their training through the latest version of New York State’s “Firefighter 1”.
Designed for: Line Officers, Safety Officers, and Interior Firefighters
Course Length: 6 hours
Prerequisite: Firefighter 1 or equivalent
