Course Overview
This is a hybrid course including both online and face-to-face components. Class will run from Feb. 4, 2022 to May 7, 2022. Face-to-face meetings will be held every regularly, and students will have an opportunity to ask questions both in-class and online before posting assignments before the due dates for each chapter.
This is a 3-month course: 180-hours of instruction will be delivered with online activities, quizzes, and other assessments. 100 hours of certification evaluation will be performed through face-to-face sessions scheduled. The course prepares the student for the Hazardous Materials Technician certification process and SERC task book completion by the state of Florida.

ATPC 508 Manatee Technical College’s Hazardous Materials Technician course is a Hybrid program consisting of online learning, classroom interaction, and hands-on training. Classroom and hands-on days are arranged throughout the course to reinforce the online learning objectives and connect the concepts with the real-world application. Students fulfill the functions of HazMat Technicians in a variety of “full-scale” field scenarios. Instructors will also be available to assist students throughout the online learning experience.

This on-line course covers the principles of effective curriculum design. It stresses the principles of adult learning and student-centered learning. Designing courses and units that address learning, performance, and behavioral objectives is the program goal.
