We welcome you to the District 10 Fire Academy. A few things that need to be covered.
- Students are required to read the book, complete online coursework material, quizzes and tests prior to the completion date.
- Students SHOULD attend the online classroom sessions Wednesday and Sunday evenings. We will be discussing the chapters and answering questions from students.
- If a student misses a online classroom session due to work or a department run, you must contact on of the co-lead instructors. All classroom workshops WILL be recorded so those who miss the class will be able to watch the lecture, as well as those who were in attendance could continue to watch the lecture again for review near the end of the class.
- Students ARE required to practice chapter skills either within your own department with an approved mentor, or an approved county agency training site. Students will be evaluated at the workshop on their performance of skills, so it is important to practice as much as you are able to.
- Students MUST attend one of the two workshops associated with the chapters being taught in a 2-week period. If you cannot attend either workshop opportunity, you MUST contact either co-lead instructor to advise them.
