Driver Operator - Pumper/Aerial

Welcome to your Firefighter I & II online course.

This course uses IFSTA's Pumping and Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator, 3rd ed. This online classroom has the following resources to help you study for your DPO/DAO exam:

  • Powerpoints slides of each chapter
  • Two (2) Study Guides for each chapter
  • Two (2) Chapter Reviews that allow you to check your own understanding of each chapter.

The study guides have the exact same questions as the reviews. You are recommended to adopt the following study routine:

  1. Complete the Study Guides using the book and the Powerpoint slides
  2. Using the study guides as a reference, complete the Chapter Reviews.
  3. Note which answers you got wrong in the Chapter Reviews, and go back to the slides and the book to review the information.
  4. Take and re-take all Chapter Reviews until you score 90% or higher.

Data analysis conducted by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Academy suggests that students who score 90% or higher on all Chapter Reviews ultimately pass their final exams!
