The NFPA Hazardous Materials Awareness Course covers the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for responding to hazardous materials incidents as a first responder. In this course, you will learn about the hazards associated with various types of materials, including their physical and chemical properties. You will also learn how to identify hazardous materials incidents, and how to safely and effectively respond to them while protecting yourself and others. At the end of the course, you will have a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a first responder to hazardous materials incidents.
