The following is information on the Driver/Operator Pumper course and if you have never taken this course you are required to.   If you have taken the course and we do not have record please upload your certificate to TargetSolutions.
The Driver/Operator Pumper course will be an on-line hybrid course through IFSTA ResourceOne. You will read the chapters and pass the chapter exams on ResourceOne then work with your Captain and Engineer to complete the skill sheets associated with those chapters. We will have 4 mandatory skills days for each shift, where we will do a quick review of the chapters and practice/verify skills. There will be various SME's at the skills days to help out.  The days have specific chapters and skills, so if you can not be to a day, get with your Battalion Chiefs to find a day that works, but they must be like for like.
We will schedule an IFSAC test soon after the last skills day. Although IFSAC Driver/Operator-Pumper certification is not required to pump our Tender and wildland units, it is required to test for promotion to Engineer or Captain. There will be an in-house written and skills test to verify competency for those that choose not to test for IFSAC certification in order to pump wildland units and the tender.
Schedule
Course opens up on ResourceOne, June 1st.
A-Shift Skills Days - July 21, 22  and August 8, 9
B-Shift Skills Days - July 11, 12 and August 10, 11
C-Shift Skills Days - July 19, 20 and August 12, 13
These days were selected because no one is scheduled for leave on those days.
Chapters 1 - 8 must be completed before your shift's 1st scheduled Skills Day and Chapters 9 - 15 must be completed before your shift's 2nd scheduled Skills Day. You must attend all 4 Skills Days.
