The IFSTA Firefighter I Part-Time Academy is designed to provide aspiring firefighters with the foundational knowledge, practical skills, and professional mindset required to serve safely and effectively in the fire service. Built upon the standards outlined by the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) and aligned with NFPA guidelines, this program delivers comprehensive instruction in fire behavior, personal protective equipment, fireground operations, rescue techniques, and emergency response procedures.
This part-time format is specifically structured to accommodate individuals who are balancing employment, family responsibilities, or other commitments while pursuing a career in the fire service. Through a combination of classroom learning, hands-on training, and scenario-based exercises, recruits will develop the critical thinking, teamwork, and physical skills necessary to operate in dynamic and high-risk environments.
Emphasis is placed on safety, discipline, and professionalism throughout the academy. Students will be challenged both mentally and physically as they learn to function as part of a coordinated firefighting team. Upon successful completion, participants will be prepared to meet Firefighter I certification requirements and take the next step toward a rewarding and service-driven career.
