Fire Fighter I is intended to serve as a primary course for Firefighters and Firefighter Candidates.  This course addresses the firefighting objectives found in NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, as well as the Hazardous Materials objectives found in NFPA 472.  Included in this course curriculum is also a 16-hour course on Wildland Fundamentals.  The majority of the curriculum is expected to be done at home and online.  Classroom time will be utilized to develop Firefighting Skills and learn job specific training such as Fire Tactics, RIT, Mayday, and Firefighting Operations.  The goal of this Academy is to develop Firefighters and Firefighter Candidates into knowledgeable resources that bear the skill sets to accomplish day-to-day operations within the Fire Service.
